Mechanical seals with conical spring

The design of a mechanical seal with a conical spring belongs to the most simplest sealing designs, which use O-rings as secondary seal. The conical spring not only acts for contact pressure of the seal ring, but also transmits the friction torque of the sliding surface to the shaft. Because of the low number of component parts these designs belong to the cost-saving seals.
